Flick to the Stick

  • This is another great tabletop game played with a coin and open to endless variations.  For two or more players.
  • You need a table, a coin, and some small objects or pieces of material.
  • The objective is to hit a target object by a spinning coin, to let it fall off the table. We used to use a lollipop stick as the target, hence the name.
  • Preparation: a launching point is chosen along an edge of the table. The target object is placed on the table, far from this point. The object must be light enough to move when hit by the coin – such as a tiny stick or a piece of crumpled paper. For a more challenging track, you can place additional objects on the table.
  • Players take flicks in turn. Hold the coin on launching point vertically against the table with one finger. Then flick with another finger to spin it in vertical position on the tabletop towards the target. Player’s turn ends when the coin comes to a halt. If the target object is still on the table, players keep taking turns launching the coin. Whoever makes the target fall off the table wins the round.
